It's a new year and with every year come new year's resolutions only to fall back within a few weeks, but one that always fascinates me that I'm willing to try thi year is #DryJanuary. 31 dayof sobriety. 31 days of no wine. 31 days of torture and in some ways sado machosim on my part.

I quit smoking a few years ago and as hard as that was I really didn't like smoking, it was a bad habit, I hated the smell in my nostrils after I had had a cigarette, I hated how I smelt after a smoke break and looking like the office piranha out there on the balcony. So quitting smoking wasn't that hard for me, there were more reasons to quit than there were to continue smoking.

However, I feel quite the opposite about alcohol, I do love wine, I do like having the odd cocktail every now and then so I'm not sure if I'll make it through the 31 days, I mean I do enjoy having a glass of wine after work and I do go without but you know how it is when you're intentionally starving yourself of something? You want it even more.

Here's to hoping that no one invites me to a dinner or birthday party or work event where wine will be on offer, Here's to hoping that these next 30 days go fast without me noticing. Here's to hoping that wine doesn't scream my name from some dark corner in my pantry.

Wish me luck!
